So, we decided to retire and live happily ever after.  Great.  How do we do that on a couple of social security checks and a small pension?  Well, we would like to live on an uncrowded beach and be able to buy fresh fish and vegetables from local street vendors and go swimming and/or body surfing in the ocean or just walk along the sandy beach and get our feet wet as the tide slowly comes in.  Hold on.  How do we reconcile living on this idyllic beach with living on social security income?  Ok, that was a bit of a challenge so I went to work and decided it could be done, just not in Estados Unidos.  So we sold everything, packed a few bags, got the necessary paperwork for our three Shih Tzu’s, and off to Ecuador we went.
